Shadowed Wings [Manip]

A manip for the fanfic Katherine and I are writing. The main people in this are (left to right) Lalaith (Tuilinn's [the main character] closest friend), Ardir (Tuilinn's brother), Tuilinn, Legolas (need I say more?), Galadriel, Eowyn, and Tuilinn again. This has more layers than I want to count, and was pretty hard to put together. But at the moment, I am satisfied.

Oh, and I am NOT a Legolas fan. You would not believe how many pictures I had to wade through before finding one that looked even somewhat intelligent.

Portal

At long lasts, I have made my Carissa manip. Wee! This actually looks next-to-nothing like what I had in mind when I first hatched this idea. The picture of Carissa (me) is almost completely different from what I was planning. But I finally found the right background, which is why this is here today. You've no idea how hard it is to find a blank, stone wall with a little of the floor showing. The only pictures from my original photo-spree-while-looking-for-stock are the portal, which is actually two portal pictures combined.

At the moment I'm very happy with this manip. I am thinking of sending Karen Hancock an email with all my LoE/SW related pictures in it. So, if they completely stink and I don't know it, you'd better tell me now.

The Price of My Tears

The internet was crazy yesterday, so I decided to tackle this picture. It is probably one of the hardest things I've done, and most of the hard stuff was the tear. In the origanal photo (here), the girl is crying a blood tear (why, I don't know - personally, I find it repulsive). A lot of work and re-doing and smugging when into it. Then I decided to smug/paint the hair some, and from there I had to do the face. Please keep in mind that my computer has a darker screen than most, so I apologize if not all of it is smugged in your viewing. I try my best.

All of the smugging was done by hand. She is suppose to look like a painting (at least, somewhat).

A character from Evil Twin of Lizard Tongue who does not show up until the third book. Basically, he and his sister are Waenx. They are blamed for a crime they did not commit. He has always dreamed of living in Israin, and jumps at the chance to convince her to run away. She agrees. He sends her out first, due to an injury he has to stay behind to let heal a little. But when time comes for him to leave, he is caught. The Waenx torture him for treason, then wipe out all his memories of wanting to go to Isrian. He goes through two years of exile, dishonor, and ridicule believing his sister is the reason he's here. Stuff happens and he finds himself in Isrian on a scouting trip. At this point he doesn't even care if his sister lives or is killed, he just wants to die. His scouting trip brings him near her town, and he is captured. He tries to kill himself several times, but is stopped each time. For about a year this goes on. She had to force feed him, force him into a bathtub (with a male friend), and keep him blocked/away from pointy objects at all times. A constant habit of his was to sit at the window and just stare out all day.

Don't worry, the story ends happily. He gets Changed.

The picture is one of my main characters, Mairinn Moral (yes, I think her name has been changed for the time), or Mair, from the book Price of My Tears. In short, she is cursed, she is forced out of her home, she dresses as a man and joins the army. There she meets Siarl Finish, whom she befriends and later (secretly) falls in love with. He is killed in a large battle, and she must move on with her regiment. She and Captain Kinth are captured by enemies, and while in their hands she learns that Siarl lives and his (general) whereabouts. She escapes and sets out to find him. This is the point the picture portrays.
