A Thousand Scarves

My first attempt at digital painting in a loooooooooooong time. And a very shabby job at that, but I still like it.

My character, Adria, from my NaNoWriMo novel, Webbed. Adria is a spunky princess who likes scarves quite a bit. She also lost her golden ball. Alas.

The Study of a Complex Character

I made this as the cover for a self-published poetry book I created. The text is very slightly off-center because I took out my name for posting publicly.

The texture is from sxc, the picture is mine.

Timetraveler

This isn't exactly what came into my head, but... *shrug*

The Dreamer is having a fanart contest right now. In the middle of the night, I came up with an idea. It was to do a photo manip/just photo. My thought was to do half and half--half modern, half colonial (as Bea). So one side of my hair is up, one is down and casual, one side has make-up, one doesn't, one hand has a watch on, one has a glove and fan, etc. When I tried it out it didn't work like I'd envisioned. When I put on the make-up, I do such a good job of blending and looking natural you really couldn't tell the difference between sides unless you looked hard (I'm wonderful, I know). I thought about doing colonial make up on the other side, but 1) Bea doesn't do that and 2) I don't have any white powder stuff. Then when I curled my hair (for added wave) it came out so well I had to put the original idea aside and do something else. When I was done with that I did a couple time-travel ones. They're not really Dreamer-ish, but I think they're interesting. This one is the only one that came out well enough to be posted. But if someone likes the idea, I might set up my stuff and do more tomorrow.

Portrait of Abby

This is Katherine's character, Abby, from our story based in Alexandria and Williamsburg in the 1700's. This is my first real attempt at digital drawing, but I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome. I originally set out to draw my own character, Emma, but couldn't find a model so ended up doing Abby. Isn't she pretty?

I also sketched her, as you can see below. I like the sketch better, I think, because I was able to straighten out problems a bit more than I could digitally (her lips, for example). The scan of it isn't good at all, because it was late and stuff, but you get the general idea.

Here's some other minor alterations:
Full Gradient. (just kidding! This is the background one)
Gradient minus the face. (just kidding! this is the full one)
Just the background gradient. (just kidding! this is the one without the face)

Blue Night

Liv Tyler as Liagiba. :) This is probably more an ETOLT 2 picture. Or maybe a moment from her scene in the portal with Jrohest. :)

Romans 12:2

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Autumn Peace

Another Liagiba, at Abigail's request.

This is autumn, after the war and while she's being courted by Jrohest. I absolutely loved this Liv Tyler picture and had to play with it.

Renee & Adelred

Two characters Hannah and I write about, a fanfiction based on The Lord of the Rings.

Renee (a French name, I know) was a Ranger before and through the War of the Ring. She met Adelred at Edoras. He was one of the Eorlings. They struck up and later were married.

The Lord

Liagiba, though I see this as being her as the lord.

I thought that the blue eyes represented her...what's the word... that there's something good, pure, or different in her that's clear despite all the reckage and scratches around her. Anyway, I really like how it turned out.

Touching Light

So, as I was reuploading some pictures (*cough*youcannowseemyoldstuffuptomay2005*cough*) I came across Dare. I really did like the picture so I looked it up on GIMP to see how I could use my enhanced GIMP skills to fix it up. I ended up just smugging it all, and I think I like how it came out.
