Lovable

Yes, I am having a sudden obsession with my Beauty and the Beast twist.

This is Mabli, otherwise known as Daere and Alaith. When Cedrin finds his way back to her castle by unfortunate chance, and bumps into her again, he begs forgiveness from hurting her flowers. He then explains that he is being hunted by someone (the reason is still being decided) and asks to stay in the castle for the time being, until it's safe for him to leave. She reluctantly agrees. He asks her name and she replies that it is Daere, meaning demon. That night, or possibly at another time in the week, he thinks over it and decides to call her Mabli, lovable. Thus over time he ceases to think of her as a "demon" and more as a lovable woman. This is what he begins to see after a time with her, not the beast that attacked him but a very pretty girl.

Below is a short scene about the moment of this picture.

~`~
Awkwardly Cedrin set the flowers beside Mabli on the bench. “I, uh, found them on my ride earlier,” he said hastily. “I never replaced that rose… and I know these aren’t as good—but I hope they help a little, Mabli.”

Her head, which she had bent to look at the wildflowers, turned back to him quickly. Flustered, he realized he had not called her that verbally before. Before she could ask questions he did not want to answer, he turned and walked quickly down the path, leaving her in the gardens.

Daere watched his retreat with faint amusement, but also with a cold, hard fear beginning to form in her stomach. Slowly she looked back at the flowers. They were cheerful, yellow. She used to love that color, before red had taken over her life. Red for love and red for blood.

Gently she picked them up, closing her eyes as she held them against her cheek. She could almost feel the way Cedrin had held them, and she imagined that through them he could hold her.

Startled by her thought, she dropped the flowers. Oh fires! Not again!

[…]

If she allowed herself to be Mabli, she would kill him.

Accursed

Finally something new!

I'll get more of my photography up soon (I have a lot of new ones to show off that I'm sure you'll be sick of before I'm done). But yesterday I got the chance to get on the big computer (which is doing better, thank goodness) and play with GIMP. This is what came out.

This is Daere, or Alaith as some once knew her. This is a sort of simbolic picture of what Cedrin meets when he stumbles into her home for the first time. If you are interested in more, read the below short-story.

Cedrin rolled away from the claws scraping off his face. He jumped to his feet and sought to hide behind his horse for protection from another onslaught by the beast. A trail of continual apologizes flowed from his mouth as he tried to calm the creature.
"Get out!" it screamed at him. "GET OUT!"
He was all too grateful to comply, and jumped to his horse’s back. "I’m sorry," he tried again, even as he spurred his horse.
"Get out!" the voice, behind him now, shook with rage.
Thoroughly bewildered now, he looked over his shoulder. The creature was on its knees, its shoulders heaving as it carefully gathered the fallen petals from the rose he had taken; they were now broken and scattered across the courtyard. A wisp of wind blew back the beast’s tangle of hair for a moment, and Cedrin could almost see a woman in the tear-streaked face. Then his view was obscured by trees, as he was entering the forest. As he turned around on his horse to see where they went, a cry of anger and pain rose in the air behind him, sending shiver down his neck.
He kicked his horse into a gallop, hoping to escape what he had seen.

You Killed Her

Based on Chapter 14 of Storm Front, a LOTR fanfic. Even if you have not read all of this fic, or those before it, I encourage you to read it, because it has so much emotion and is very well written. I'm not sure yet how much I like this manip, but it took me a long time to make (what's new?). So, yes.

Evivilor Blakak

...The redo.

I don't have much to say, besides that it took be a very long time to decide on what to do with him. I'm fairly glad with the result.

AND I just finished the quiz. Take it here. Be sure to rate it, and comment if you want.

Uh huh.

It took me forever to find a background I liked. The font was easy, though. *pokes Abigail about the ETOLT trailer*

Liagiba Cassi

Originally, this was Kala/Calenthe (sp?) Clear/Stal/Raes, her daughter, but, again, I needed a good picture, so we'll just say her and her daughter look alike. Wee.

Anna Hall

Yes, I'm going to clud up this site with my pictures from the results of my quizilla quiz, which you will see shortly.

This is Anna Hall. She's a writer. Need I say more?

I searched forever with no luck at finding a good Anna picture. I had a mental image of her reading or writing in my colonial dress, but for some reason I never read or wrote in that costume. Yeah. Weird.

So, as most of you should know, these are Jolene's loverly hands with her loverly pen. Thanks to her.
